The new-age hippie is a different type,
Of member of society spawned from sixties hype.
She follows Phish and Moe. instead of The Dead,
Clad in hemp and tie-dye from toe to head.
Some consider the hippie to be a burden on society,
While others just leave her alone and call it variety.
The jobs she acquires are often short term,
To be able to travel the country and learn
Different things from people and places,
While memorizing new cities and faces.
She travels cross-country hoping to find
Things that weren’t at home, that she thought with her mind.
She loved living, thinking, hoping and breathing,
And caring for every human being.
Her two favorite possessions are her brain and music,
The things that help her most when life is confusing.
Her favorite place is her room, alone or with friends,
Where memories of good vibes and times never ends.
Only seeming to be caught up in a different world,
She’s really an uncomplicated, free-spirited girl.
